Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint 全知讀者視角電影

 I went to watch a movie by myself - the movie was Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint. It's a revised version of a story that was originally a novel, which later became a webcomic. I had read the comic version before.

I really like the story. It's about a reader who has been following a web novel for more than ten years. In the end, he becomes the only person still reading it. One day, the novel's world suddenly becomes real, and he is the only one who knows that has happened - and what will happen next.

I think that idea is very interesting. When we read the story, we consider this man the main character, but in his world, the novel already had another protagonist. In that story, if the original main character dies, he can come back infinitely, and the story keeps restarting. That makes everything feel meaningless (except the main character). The new main character (the reader) doesn't like that. He's also afraid that if the world resets, he might disappear. So, he decides to change the story.

To be honest, the movie isn't bad. If I had never read the original story, I would probably think it was a great movie. But because I love the original version, there are many differences that I feel are a bit disappointing - including the main character's personality and a lot of detailed settings. That's a shame.
